Immerse yourself in the daily life of the Ancient Romans Julius Caesar, Tiberius and Valerian in nearby Augusta Raurica. Imposing ruins and the numerous amazing archaeological finds in the museum bear witness to what a flourishing place this used to be. When this Roman town was in its heyday, about 20,000 people lived here. Most of the traces left behind by the Romans have now been excavated and can be seen in the largest archaeological open-air museum in north-west Switzerland, including the best preserved ancient theatre north of the Alps and the unique, reconstructed "Casa Romana".
Can there be any more authentic way of experiencing history than to walk among 2,000-year-old ruins, or to touch an object once held in Roman hands?
